PITX records high-volume passengers during Holy Week 2023

Over 1.5 million passengers passed through the Paraaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) during the Holy Week exodus from March 27 to April 11, above the 1.3 million registered during the same time previous year.

PITX traffic data shows that 1,577,710 individuals utilized the terminal to return to their regions for the prolonged holiday. It also noted that many travelers purchased their tickets in advance to avoid clogged roads on busy days.

According to Jason Salvador, head of PITX Corporate Affairs and Government Relations, “this number was reached due to the earlier plight of passengers to the provinces, and this also recorded the arrival of passengers during the Day of Valor.”

The main bus terminal had earlier predicted that this year’s Holy Week would see 1.2 million travelers.

Salvador added, “We recognize that we have a responsibility to protect everyone’s safety and security, at least when within the facility. As a terminal that serves over 110,000 people every day.

PITX said that between 2022 and 2023, it was successful in seizing 491 contraband goods, including knives, cutters, and homemade air weapons.
